Swami Vivekanand College of Engineering, Indore, in collaboration with upGrad, successfully organized a seminar on Data Science on Tuesday, 8th April 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The seminar was held in the college pharmacy auditorium and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members across various departments.

The keynote speaker for the session was Mr. Alok Chauhan, a seasoned Data Scientist and industry expert associated with upGrad. He brought with him 15+ years of experience and deep insights into the ever-evolving field of data science.

Mr. Chauhan began the seminar with an introduction to Data Science, covering its relevance, scope, and application in today’s technology-driven world. He explained key concepts such as data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and big data. He emphasized how data-driven decision-making is transforming industries and discussed the growing demand for data scientists across sectors.

The seminar included real-world case studies and practical examples that helped students understand how data science is being applied in areas such as healthcare, finance, e-commerce, and more. Mr. Chauhan also gave a brief overview of popular tools and programming languages used in the field, including Python, R, and SQL.

Towards the end of the session, a Q&A round was held where students eagerly interacted with Mr. Chauhan. He addressed their queries related to career paths in data science, skill development, and available online learning platforms, especially those offered by upGrad.
